Built in just two years with the participation of more than 500 workers, it represents one of the most beautiful Art Nouveau hotels in Europe.

It was 1902 when the Società Anonima per la Gestione e l’esercizio dei Grandi Alberghi commissioned architect Romolo Squadrelli and engineer Luigi Mazzocchi to build the Grand Hotel. It saw the light of day in just two years and throughout its history hosted such illustrious figures as Queen Margherita of Savoy, Queen Elena, Prince Umberto and King Faruk of Egypt, Quasimodo, Tommasi di Lampedusa, football teams like Milan, the great Inter and many others.

Today, after consolidating the structure, the turn-of-the-century Art Nouveau frescoes and also the 1920s art deco frescoes on the second floor have been unearthed. Painstaking work that involved eight female restorers for three and a half years. An artistic masterpiece not to be missed!
